Spicy Siracha King Prawns
Spicy Thai style King prawns in a Siracha hot and spicy salsa.This recipe serves 1 person, increase quantity’s as appropriate for more people.
- 6 Large raw King prawns peeled and deveined
- Carrot diced (tablespoon)
- Onion diced (tablespoon)
- Red pepper diced (tablespoon)
- Green pepper diced (tablespoon)
- Garlic Chopped (1/2 teaspoon)
- Sugar (1/2 teaspoon)
- Siracha hot sauce (2-3 tablespoons)
- Oyster sauce (teaspoon)
- Coarse Black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Seasoning (chicken oxo)
- Vegetable oil (tablespoon)
Gas or electric hob
roughly dice up the mixed vegetables into small pieces and set to one side.
Use a sharp knife to butterfly the king prawns down the spine, try not to cut them in half. (Doing this allows the prawns to open up during cooking)
We advise you Use 6 prawns per person for a generous sized appetiser.
Set the gas to a medium to hot temperature and heat up a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the frying pan.
Add to the hot pan the diced vegetables, oyster sauce, sugar, seasoning, siracha sauce, black pepper and garlic and mix together.
cook until sauce reduces a bit and thickens up this usually takes a minute or two.
add the prawns and allow time to cook. Usually takes 4 minutes in total, flip the prawns over after the first two minutes.
Serve up the prawns with a cold crisp side salad, fresh tomatoes and cucumber pieces on the side.
